Oklahoma Rose Vineyard and
Café
…The Vineyard without
a winery!
Oklahoma Rose Vineyard
is the culmination of a sweet medley of past nostalgia, ardent hobbies and hard work.
Nanette, Steve, and their two boys, Cole and Garret, established the vineyard 5 years ago. Each one has
nurtured it, slaved away in it, and at times even blundered it. In short
it’s been a tremendous learning experience with great rewards, as well as hard lessons.
Nanette and Steve both
grew up in rural areas; Steve in Oklahoma, and Nanette in a small agricultural community known for its peaches and pears,
just north of Los Angeles, in Littlerock, CA. Nanette’s family had their
own peach and pear orchard, selling the fruit in a roadside stand. She fondly
remembers it being a great way to grow up. She also grew up making peach cobblers,
and peach jam.
Not only did Nanette enjoy
growing up on a farm, but also enjoyed her Dad’s home place in Welch, Oklahoma.
They would come for annual visits and spend time on what had been his family’s farm, which was later owned and
operated by an uncle. Her Dad’s family, Oklahoma’s farming communities
and quaint small towns, as well as ORU drew her back to Oklahoma where she put down roots with her husband Steve.
They have lived in Chelsea
for 13 years now, and hope you will come and visit thier vineyard and Cafe'.
The cafe' is open Memorial
Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend on Saturday and Sunday 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
